Contra monisms.

You can paint yourself into a picture, but not into the picture you end up painting.  Or, to make all objects makes means that they are not objects to anything; i.e. they are known without being known.

And yet in placing something other than objects, we do not posit another object. So monism is false, but we cannot think of what it leaves out.
